The Discreet Use of the Senses

A rose given
In sunlight reflecting,
Patterns of light
Glimmering, birds
Flying fluttering
In gardens of ecstasy.

Sacred skin worshipped
Softly scented in trances
Of freedom, an
Eternity of sensations
Fulfilled in every
Moment with you.

Averting eyes
In blushing desires,
My body intrigued
In captured responses
And these passing thoughts
That I cannot resist.

A bond beyond a normal day
With a lush exchange of energy,
For when I heard your voice
Nothing else compared;
More than something in passing
You are absolutely beautiful.

On Via Poetica I am currently featuring selections from Sing—a personal collection written over the years and previously shared with only a few close friends—starting with an idyllic first poem and developing therefrom, a spot I recommend starting from.

Through poetry I explore the many levels of humanity, experience, fantasy, hopes, and dreams. Elements of beauty and inspiration reflect the desires of the soul, elevating the depths of passion through the integrity of reverence and devotion. Dualities are engaged with courage and stimulating confusion; steps outside the boundaries of conformity challenge and celebrate structured beliefs and fluctuating desires, both global and personal.

Poetry reaches the part of us we experience every day that tries to achieve a balance of our simplicities and complexities, ideals and accomplishments, motivations and beliefs. These words speak to our quest for fulfillment, understanding, peace, spirituality and love we experience throughout every day. A deeply personal quest that transforms our intentions into actions and reaches the part of us that will never let go of our dreams.
